This collection contains various certificates given to Mr and Mrs Hughes, including Honorary Life Governor certificates from the Ballarat Orphanage; Life Governor certificates from the Austin Hospital, Heidelberg; a Life Member's certificate from the Melbourne Home and Hospital for the Aged (Cheltenham); a Life Governor certificate from the Victorian Children's Aid Society, Parkville; and a Past President's certificate from the Commercial Travellers' Association of Victoria. Also includes invitations to various balls; an invitation to a State Reception to meet Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh; and a souvenir program of their visit to Melbourne in 1954.
